The growing issue of energy scarcity can pose challenges to competitiveness in Mexico's main industrial centers. In Queretaro alone, 60% of the state's energy demand comes from the industrial segment. Only in Queretaro, 60% of the state's energy demand comes from the industrial sector. Moreover, the growth of the industrial sector in this region is causing the electricity requirements to increase continuously, with an annual growth in energy demand of 6% in 2020.

While this is true for manufacturing, data centers require not only abundant but also immediate energy supply to their installation in the industrial parks of the region. Data centers are rapidly expanding in Queretaro. Although the data is not public, given the high security requirements of these facilities, it is estimated that meeting the demand for the operation of some data centers will require an increase of up to 15 or 20% in the current capacity of the National Transmission Network (RNT).

The construction times of data centers are faster than the construction times of the electrical infrastructure required to receive the energy, which necessitates strict planning to avoid jeopardizing the operation due to the lack of energy. One of the most significant challenges is coordinating and submitting connection requests to the relevant authorities, such as CFE Transmisión and the National Energy Control Center (CENACE), as these processes are usually lengthy.

Vesta took the initiative and took on all these processes to ensure the supply of electrical energy to its users in Vesta Park Queretaro. Currently, the park has a substation with a capacity of 30 MVA and the potential for growth up to 170 MVA.
